With temperatures rising to 100 plus (Fahrenheit) across the USA, extreme measures need to be taken for people and pets. Listed below are several links which may help.
Simple basic principles:
Avoid: caffeine and alcohol. Dark clothes. Hot foods. Too much exertion outside.
Do: Drink plenty of water. Wear a hat outside, but keep it a bit damp. Keep the curtains facing West closed. Freeze or chill bottles of water and keep them handy for hot situations.
If you are in an extreme heat situation and without air conditioning seek shelter in a cooling center provided by your community or go to a friend’s or family member‘s house or apartment with air conditioning. Do not tax yourself.
